Steel wires are drawn out for strength, then in a variety of constructions are stranded together forming a twisted cable that has great strength to size ratios. The material is galvanized for rust and corrosion protection.

7x19 Construction
Seven strands of nineteen wires are preformed then twisted together resulting in a highly flexible cable that is stronger than 7x7 constructions. Used in applications where flexibility is required and abrasion resistance is secondary.
